Our Inspiration
The Lord will guide you continually, watering your life when you are dry and keeping you healthy, too. You will be like a well watered garden like an ever-flowing spring.Isaiah 58:11 (NLT)
Hydration
DRINK, DRINK, DRIINK! Water that is. (I just got up and filled up my glass.)
Joanie Rauch* is a member of our tribe and a health coach She shared this with me: “Our bodies are made up of 60% water which is stored in our cells. Most people walk around chronically dehydrated and don’t even know it. The goal should be to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. If you weigh 160, that’s 80 ounces! Many times, we mistake the need for water as “hunger”, so we grab a snack. Next time you think you feel hungry, drink some water first!”
This is so true! You might think you need to eat but maybe a big glass of water will satisfy that craving. I like to add citrus essential oils to my water. (Caution: only some brands of essential oils can be safely ingested. Do your research or contact me for more information.) You can also infuse your water with fresh fruits. Adding sliced cucumbers is also very refreshing. So today, fill up a large container of water and vow to empty it a few times throughout the day. Try replacing your urge to snack with several ounces of water. Stay hydrated and it will benefit you in many ways.

I will be out of the house a lot today, so I will pack water and will reach for that. I am excited to feel well hydrated again, as I know I skimp on water breaks.
Just the other day, I heard Janet from Centerville Park District recommend drinking 16 ounces of water before you eat your meals. This has help her feel full faster at meals.
Thanks for this reminder. I do always try to get enough water a day, but the reminder on just how much we really need is an eye opening. So, 80 ounces is 10-8oz glasses a day. Wow! That is a lot. I usually aim for 4-6 8oz glasses day. So, again thanks for this eye opener.
My challenge is that I do not feel thirsty, so I literally have to consciously choose to drink fluids, but often would have only a glass of water or two a day. The turning point came when I was suffering from severe, debilitating vertigo. After many doctors, treatments, etc, I finally started to choose to drink ample amounts of fluids. Drinking fluids has made all the difference! Our bodies will let us know when we are out of balance!
That’s quite a story and a great lesson for all of us.
I found a great cleansing water recipe, and it is delicious.
Slice Cucumber
Slice Tangerine or Orange
Slice Lemon
Peppermint leaves, but I couldn’t find that so used Mint leaves.
Lots of ice
Delicious!
I like to flavor my water with aloe juice
